Film Series in Pittsburgh!

Posted by: Mary Kate Ranii on April 8, 2016

This summer, PRC is working with our friends at Allegheny CleanWays to present the 2016 Films for a Better Planet screening and discussion series! Following our wildly successful Wild & Scenic Film Festival in fall 2015, we are excited to open the conversation about sustainability and environmental awareness to the residents of Southwestern Pennsylvania through the medium of film.

Each event will feature an hour-long documentary about topics ranging from plastic pollution in the Pacific to single-use water bottle debates on the East Coast, to going “zero waste” at the city-level. Following the films, stick around for a panel discussion and question session with local experts on these issues.

Our film series will kick off with a screening of Racing to Zero at the Wigle Whiskey Barrel House on Friday, May 6th at 7PM. Join us, and other like-minded individuals for an evening of quality discussion and powerful footage, not to mention Wigle cocktails and Franktuary’s food truck.

Tickets to the Films for a Better Planet events are free, though registration is required. Register for any of the events here! We also ask that you donate whatever possible so that we can cover our costs and continue to host these screenings and panel discussions.

This film series will lead up to our Second Annual Wild & Scenic Film Festival which will be taking place in September 2016! Stay tuned for details!
