Safely dispose of your old prescription drugs, expired over-the-counter medications, and other pharmaceuticals with PRC! This October, PRC is partnering with PA American Water to host three drop-off locations as part of the Drug Enforcement Agency’s (DEA) National Drug Take Back Day!

On Saturday, October 28, from 10AM – 2PM, bring your unwanted and expired medications to the following locations be responsibly managed at no charge:

Other groups and the DEA are hosting multiple locations throughout Western PA and the entire state. Visit the DEA website to find a complete listing of registered drop-off locations and click here to learn more about PRC’s drop-off sites.

Since 2011 PRC has been a regional partner of the DEA’s National Prescription Drug Take-Back events – hosting sites to collect unused and unwanted pharmaceuticals from Pennsylvania residents. Medicines that remain in homes are high suceptiable to misuse and abuse; and improper disposal via flushing down the drain or being thrown away with regular trash can lead to safety and health hazards..

Since its first National Take-Back Day in September of 2010, leading up to the the thirteenth event in April 2017, the DEA and more than 4,000 of its national (including PRC), tribal, and community law enforcement partners have collected more than  8,100,000 pounds of drugs throughout all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and several U.S. territories.
