2nd Annual Wild & Scenic Film Festival
PRC is excited to announce that we will be partnering with Allegheny CleanWays to host the 2nd Annual Pittsburgh Wild & Scenic Film Festival! Initially a project of SYRCL (South Yuba River Citizens League), the 15th Annual Wild & Scenic Film Festival combines inspirational and beautiful filmmaking with pressing environmental issues to educate citizens and communities and to inspire action across the nation to protect the environment. From coast to coast, citizens are inspired to get outdoors and explore our local places and empowered to make change in their own lives and communities.
The 2016 Wild & Scenic Film Festival will take place on both:
- Thursday, September 22nd at the Harris Theater in Pittsburgh’s Cultural District from 6-9:30pm
- Saturday, September 24th at the Hollywood Theater in Dormont from 5-9pm.
Last year, community members gathered at the Kelly Strayhorn Theatre in East Liberty to learn about issues relating to litter, ocean and river health, and much more! The event was a huge success, with 200 participants filling the theatre and connecting with local non-profit organizations.
This year, PRC and Allegheny CleanWays are expanding to reach even more members of the Southwestern Pennsylvania community. Join us at one of two screenings in September at two amazing, local theaters. We’re excited to partner with the Re:NEW Festival to host the Wild & Scenic Film Festival at the Harris Theater in Pittsburgh’s Cultural District and to host an encore festival at the Hollywood Theater in Dormont!
Each event will feature award-winning films, local organizations, a raffle and much more!
