Final Collection Events of 2016

Pennsylvania residents have one last chance to clean out the basement, the garage and the garden shed in preparation for the Pennsylvania Resources Council’s final two collection events of the 2016 season.

PRC will collect a wide variety of materials – ranging from pesticides and paints to tires and computers – at two events in October:

PRC HARD-TO-RECYCLE COLLECTION – OCTOBER 1
Individuals can dispose of cell/home phones, CFL bulbs, computer towers and peripheral equipment, expanded polystyrene packaging material, microwave ovens and stereo equipment at no cost.

Participants will pay a fee to drop off televisions, computer monitors, alkaline batteries, CDs/DVDs/floppy discs, fluorescent tubes, small Freon appliances, small kitchen appliances, stereo speakers, tires (with and without rims) and VHS tapes.

Saturday, October 1, from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
The Mall at Robinson (parking lot near Sears), Allegheny County

PRC HOUSEHOLD CHEMICAL COLLECTION – OCTOBER 8
Individuals can drop off automotive fluids, household cleaners, pesticides, paints and other household chemicals for a cost of $3/gallon (cash only).

Saturday, October 8, from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Bradys Run Park Recycling Center, Beaver County

PRC & DEA DRUG TAKE-BACK DAY – OCTOBER 22
Individuals can drop off unwanted and expired medications, both prescription (non-controlled, controlled substances) and over-the-counter, in tablet, liquid, ointment, inhaler, powder, or patch form.
