Anti-Litter Video Contest

LitterFrom visual blight on your way to work, to cutting your pooch’s paws while you’re out on a walk, to clogging our rivers and streams, there is no limit to how litter negatively impacts communities. Pennsylvania Resource Council and our partners at KDKA are inviting professional and amateur filmmakers, as well as citizens of the Pittsburgh area of all ages to show us how litter impacts your life and your city.

There are two categories to submit your “anti-litter” video – a winner will be chosen from each category in the summer of 2015 and will be aired on KDKA or one of its member stations. Choose the category that fits best for you and be sure to email infowest@prc.org with any questions!

The Traditional Commercial

This video should demonstrate how litter impacts your life, community, City or the environment in general. This video must be 30 seconds or less and should feature at least one of the items from both the key litter types and key landmarks lists below. Furthermore, your video must feature the litterbug badge or litterbug hashtag. This video should be uploaded as a “Response Video” to PRC’s 90-second Crying Steelers Fan PSA.

The Vine or “Short”

This video should demonstrate how litter impacts your life, community, City or the environment in general. This video should be between six and ten seconds in length and should feature one of the items from either the key litter types or key landmarks listed below. Your Vine or video should feature #litterbug or badge in either the video, the title, or description. Vines should be directed at PRC’s Vine account or uploaded as a “Response Video” to PRC’s 90-second Crying Steelers Fan PSA.

The Timeline

Interested parties may enter to participate in the contest until September 30th, 2015. Submissions will be accepted as “Response Videos” to PRC’s 90-second Crying Steelers Fan PSA at http://bit.ly/DontBeALitterbug or by linking @prc_litterbug to your Vine.

The Prize

Winners in each category will be selected by notable Pittsburghers and will receive:

  • Their video aired on KDKA
  • Other prizes to be announced
