New Face at PRC!
PRC’s Zero Waste Team has been working hard for months, reduce and diverting waste! Already, the team has diverted hundreds of thousands of pounds of material to be recycled, composted, and reused from events like the Dick’s Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon and the Dollar Bank Three Rivers Arts Festival.
PRC is excited to move into the second half of summer, working with dozens more events, businesses, communities and residents, to protect PA’s resources for future generations. To make an even bigger impact in the summer and fall, PRC invited a new face to join the team in our Western Office!
PRC would like to officially welcome Stacy Albin!
Stacy joins the team as PRC’s Zero Waste Specialist, working on the ground to divert waste as well as develop solutions to avoid waste in the future. Stacy recently moved to Pittsburgh from Cleveland, Ohio, where she worked for the Mayor’s Office of Sustainability. She studied biology and environmental science at John Carroll University and had a short stint in marine biology at a lab in Florida. Although “reduce, reuse, recycle” has been her mantra for living sustainably for many years, she found her passion for zero waste as a Stranding Investigations Intern in Florida. After performing several necropsies, Stacy realized that she could have a greater impact on marine ecosystems by working to change human behavior so that trash is no longer “out of sight, out of mind.” Aside from her passion for sustainability, she is currently renovating a home in Bloomfield, which she would not recommend for the faint-hearted.
