PRC shares tips on obtaining food, saving money on it, and making the most of it!
We can’t live without it. Not everyone has access to it. We waste a lot of it. Yet, it can bring us together.
According to a 2021 PADEP Waste Composition Study, 39.8% of what is put in landfills in Pennsylvania is “organics” including food waste, yard waste, and textiles. Yet 1 in 8 Pennsylvanians are food insecure, according to Feeding America.
ReFED’s (Rethink Food Waste through Economics and Data) Food Waste Prevention Week takes place April 7 – 13.

- Become a zero waste contractor working at local events and helping to divert waste.

- Help your community develop its own zero-waste plan at the city or state level.
- Teach kids about saving food by using WWF’s educational toolkits.
