Since 2011 PRC has been a regional partner of the DEA’s National Prescription Drug Take-Back events – hosting sites to collect unused and unwanted pharmaceuticals from Pennsylvania residents. Medicines that remain in homes are high susceptible to misuse and abuse; and improper disposal via flushing down the drain or being thrown away with regular trash can lead to safety and health hazards..
Since its first National Take-Back Day in September of 2010, leading up to the the thirteenth event in April 2017, the DEA and more than 4,000 of its national (including PRC), tribal, and community law enforcement partners have collected more than 8,100,000 pounds of drugs throughout all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and several U.S. territories.
