TWO WEEK-LONG “TRAVELING GLASS RECYCLING BIN” APPEARANCES SET FOR SEPTEMBER

Posted by: Stacy Albin on September 3, 2020

PRC’s Traveling Glass Recycling Bin Program – which serves residents living in municipalities no longer accepting glass in curbside recycling collection – provides a weeklong service, free to residents, that rotates through a variety of locations in western Pennsylvania.

PRC Traveling Glass Recycling Bin engagements in September 2020:

September 12 – 17 @ MOON TOWNSHIP PUBLIC WORKS FACILITY

Special collection hours at this site: 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily

1115 Stevenson Mill Road, Coraopolis, PA 15108

Presented by Moon Township and sponsored by Moon Township Municipal Authority

September 26 – October 1 @ FINDLAY TOWNSHIP PUBLIC WORKS GARAGE

Daylight hours

1058 Clinton Road, Clinton, PA 15026

Presented by Findlay Township

Individuals can drop off glass bottles, jars, and jugs of all colors (no color sorting required).  Containers should be empty and rinsed, with lids and labels still on.  Bags and boxes used to deliver glass must be discarded off-site.

“This pilot program expands PRC’s current glass recycling collection opportunities by providing residents with a safe method for recycling glass while eliminating the need to interact with other individuals or touch shared surfaces,” according to PRC Environmental Program Coordinator Ashley DiGregorio.  “Self-serve glass drop off is available during daylight hours on a weekly basis from Saturday through Thursday, and bin sites are strictly monitored at all times.”

PRC’s Traveling Glass Recycling Bin Program is sponsored by Owens-Illinois, Inc. and CAP Glass.
