Why should I volunteer?

Signing up to be a volunteer is a great way to make a positive impacts on Pennsylvania’s environment. So, you are keeping dangerous and valuable materials out of our landfills, waterways, and public spaces.

Which programs accept volunteers?

Volunteers are an essential part of each and every one of our Eastern and Western programming. Thus, our organization seeks volunteers for a variety of programs including:

What do volunteers do?

Pennsylvania Resources Council provides guidance, and you spend a day protecting the environmental resources. Then, you are assigned a task like helping to direct traffic, educating the public about our programs, and ensuring our programs reach as many residents as possible. Furthermore, we have many tasks that fits the bill for each individual’s abilities.

You will participate in a brief training session prior to the start of the event. Volunteers can work either full or partial shifts at our events and will usually be provided with breakfast, lunch, and refreshments.  Programming happens rain or shine, so volunteers will dress for the weather. Therefore, we provide safety vests and gloves.

When are the events?

We have calendar schedules for each program. In other words, please check out our event calendar to see all of our upcoming events for the Eastern and Western region. Additionally, be sure to check back regularly, because we update often.
