Growing Greener Communities (GGC) is an initiative to create healthy waterways, improve quality of life with green solutions, and make our communities more resilient to climate change impacts.
Who We Are
The Growing Greener Communities (GGC) Initiative consists of four non-profit partners: The Pennsylvania Resources Council, Darby Creek Valley Association, Eastern Delaware County Stormwater Collaborative, and Lower Merion Conservancy. Collectively, we support many small-scale projects focused on reducing stormwater runoff and increasing wildlife habitat in southeastern Pennsylvania.
Some of our projects include planting trees, building rain gardens, replacing pavement with green spaces, and converting lawns to meadows. In addition to our on-the-ground projects, we also coordinate educational workshops focused on watershed education and provide native plants, trees, and shrubs to local homeowners.
