Zero Waste Events Educator
Status: Part-time / Seasonal / Contracted 1099 position
Hourly Rate: $20/hour
Supervisor: Zero Waste Events Coordinator
Location: Pittsburgh, PA
Dates: Programming will be presented on June 26 / August 1 / August 6 / August 30 / September 11-13 / September 19 / September 26-27
The Zero Waste Events Educator (ZWEE) will directly engage with event attendees and lead public showcase workstations, educating the public on how PRC diverts waste from events in real time. This job shares responsibilities with Zero Waste Event Assistant, with a specific focus on leading educational presentations that will demonstrate proper sorting procedures for landfill, recycling, and compost streams.
This opportunity best suits an extroverted person who enjoys actively engaging with the public, answering questions to the best of their ability, and educating event attendees about Zero Waste.

Zero Waste Event Assistants are an integral part of the Zero Waste programs. Apply today to start providing field support for PRC’s Zero Waste Event Services. These are contract opportunities that pay hourly. We are seeking workers with a passion for getting their hands dirty while helping divert thousands of pounds of waste from the landfill. People with food service, educational, and outdoor work backgrounds highly encouraged to apply. The positions are on an as-needed basis per our Zero Waste Events schedule. Events are usually on weekends and evenings May – October.
