2023 Hard to Recycle Collection Events

  • June 3 – Galleria at Pittsburgh Mills, Frazer Township, Allegheny County
  • August 12 — Woodland Hills High School, Allegheny County
  • August 26 – Next Tier Connect @ Pittsburgh East, Monroeville, Allegheny County
  • October 7 – Settlers Cabin Park, Allegheny County

All events require pre-registration to attend.

Acceptable Materials & Associated Fees

Materials Collected

  • All Computer Monitors (flat screen & CRT) – $20 each
  • Televisions – $30 each
  • Console or Rear Projection TVs – $40 each
  • Printers – $5 each
  • Small Freon Containing Appliances (window ac units, dehumidifiers) – $10 each
  • Fluorescent tubes – $2 per 4 foot tube
  • Tires (car/truck) – $5 without rims $12 with rims
  • Hard Drive Data Destruction Verification – 1st drive $11
  • Hard Drive Data Destruction Verification – each additional drive after 1st is $3 each

  • Expanded Polystyrene packaging material

* $5 participant fee waived if individual pays for disposal of TV, tires or other materials listed in the FEE section above

We are NOT accepting batteries, CFLs and media (VHS, DVDs, Cassette tapes) at 2023 events. Visit www.greendisk.com for mail-in media recycling options. For battery and CFL recycling, visit Batteries Plus Bulbs (call 412-366-3658) for locations close to you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, we take televisions of all sizes.  Our fees are $30 for televisions. For rear projection or console TVs, the fee is $40. To see our complete list of fees, refer to the Acceptable Material & Associated Fees section on this page.

We accept all forms of payment: cash, check, credit and debit cards.

Yes. The event is a drive-through event, participants are asked to stay in the vehicle at all times. We work alongside volunteers on site to unload materials from all participant vehicles.

The line shuts at 1 pm, and everyone who is in line by 1 pm will have their materials unloaded.
