PRC works to ensure the general public has the opportunity to safely, correctly and conveniently dispose of their electronic waste including TVs, Computers and more.

We are committed to the safe, ethical and responsible recycling of electronic waste through recognition by the Basel Action Network (BAN) as an e-Stewards® Enterprise. The designation recognizes cities, companies and nonprofits that take concrete measures to eliminate the export of hazardous electronic waste (e-waste) to developing countries by using Certified e-Stewards Recyclers to manage their electronic waste.

PRC holds e-waste collections at multiple locations across the state of PA.

PRC host electronics recycling collection events in Allegheny County to provide residents with a convenient and cost-effective method of responsibly disposing of televisions, computers and other electronic equipment.  Across the state, PRC remains committed to the safe, ethical and responsible recycling of electronic waste through recognition by the Basel Action Network (BAN) as an e­Stewards Enterprise.

2025 ALLEGHENY COUNTY PARK SCHEDULE TO BE ANNOUNCED

Acceptable Materials & Associated Fees

$5 Participant Fee charged for UNLIMITED DISPOSAL of following materials

  • CPU (towers), laptops, mice & keyboards
  • Home phones & cellphones
  • Tablets & UPS
  • Servers, routers, & modems
  • DVD Players, VCRs, & stereos
  • Copiers & scanners
  • Electronic cables
  • Video game consoles

Materials Collected for a ADDITIONAL PER-ITEM FEE

  • All Computer Monitors (flat screen & CRT) – $20 each
  • Televisions – $35 each
  • Console or Rear Projection TVs – $45 each
  • Printers – $5 each
  • Hard Drive Data Destruction Verification – 1st drive $11
  • Hard Drive Data Destruction Verification – each additional drive after 1st is $3 each

This 2024 e-waste collection campaign in Allegheny County is sponsored by Allegheny County Health Department and Allegheny County Parks Department in partnership with eLoop llc.

EVENT DETAILS

  • Place all items in car trunk/truck bed.
  • PRC accepts all forms of payment.
  • PRC follows all federal/state/local health and safety guidelines.

Do NOT bring: Freon-containing devices (i.e. refrigerators, dehumidifiers), large appliances, mixed recyclables (i.e. cans, plastic, glass, cardboard, paper), batteries, lightbulbs, smoke detectors.
