PRC COLLECTION SCHEDULE ANNOUNCED

Posted on March 30, 2021 by Pennsylvania Resources Council

2021 collections to accept e-waste, tires, small Freon appliances, household chemicals and more

Mark your 2021 calendar now for dates to drop off a wide variety of materials – ranging from computers and tires to household chemicals and smoke detectors – at upcoming collection events in western Pennsylvania sponsored by the Pennsylvania Resources Council (PRC) and its partners.

“PRC provides residents with numerous options to conveniently and cost-effectively dispose of a wide variety of materials,” according to PRC Interim Managing Director Sarah Alessio Shea.  “Since details vary for each of these opportunities, we encourage individuals to visit our website at prc.org or to call PRC at 412-488-7490 extension 3 for complete details.”

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, PRC will incorporate safety measures including an advance registration system in 2021.  Registration will open for each event one month in advance.

“Again this year PRC is integrating procedures including advance registration and on-site logistics to reduce the number of interactions occurring between event participants and staff to promote safety,” according to Shea.  “To streamline the process at our events, we’re asking participants to wear face coverings and stay in their vehicles while the contractor unloads the materials.  When preparing to attend one of these collections, participants should place all materials in their car trunks or truck beds.”
