NANCY MARTIN
PRC Education Program Coordinator
VISION: I love to envision people everywhere working together to combat greed and destruction and embracing loving compassion, equity and stewardship of our beautiful planet home.
EDUCATION: Clarion University, studied Elementary Education; University of Pittsburgh, studied Spanish
INTERESTS: Everything – but especially the gift of children, the miracle of nature, the joy of swimming, the awe and wonder of hiking, the freedom and thrill of biking, and the serenity and exuberance of kayaking.
PEOPLE MIGHT BE SURPRISED TO KNOW: I’m retiring very soon and venturing out into the “wild” to hike either the 5000-mile American Discovery Trail or the 2200-mile Appalachian Trail.
Nancy joined PRC’s staff in 2003, and throughout the past 19 years has taught thousands of western Pennsylvanians of all ages how to become better environmental stewards. Nancy is the creator of PRC’s Watershed Awareness education program, instructing numerous children about what a watershed is and how to protect it. She has taught legions of adults how to start backyard composting systems and how to install rain barrels.
Nancy leaves an awesome impact on the region and on her coworkers who wish her all the best in retirement.
