EVENT REGISTRATION HAS FILLED & IS NOW CLOSED
PRC will host an electronics recycling collection event on April 29 in Delaware County to provide residents with a convenient and cost-effective method of responsibly disposing of televisions, computers and other electronic equipment.
The e-waste collection will take place on Thursday, April 29, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Rose Tree Park, 1671 N. Providence Road, Media, PA 19063 (entrance on Route 252).
“PRC is excited to reintroduce electronics recycling to southeastern Pennsylvania by hosting this event in Rose Tree Park, where our eastern headquarters office is located,” said PRC Interim Managing Director Sarah Alessio Shea. “Across the state, PRC remains committed to the safe, ethical and responsible recycling of electronic waste through recognition by the Basel Action Network (BAN) as an eStewards Enterprise.”
At no cost, individuals can drop off cell/home phones, computer towers and peripheral equipment (keyboards, laptops, mice, etc.), video game consoles/DVD players and vacuum cleaners.
For a fee, individuals can drop off televisions, computer monitors and printers.
Participants must register in advance at prc.org/delcocollection or by calling 610-353-1555 x2.
“In addition to the advance registration process, PRC is integrating on-site procedures to reduce the number of interactions occurring between event participants and staff to promote safety,” according to Shea. “To streamline the process at our events, we’re asking participants to wear face coverings and stay in their vehicles while the contractor unloads the materials. When preparing to attend a collection, participants should place all materials in their car trunks or truck beds.”
The 2021 e-waste collection campaign in Delaware County is sponsored by Delaware County Parks and the Law Office of Winifred M. Branton in partnership with Covanta Environmental Solutions.
